Women’s Hockey ties Marian

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Falcons and Sabres battled to a draw in the series opener as the Concordia Wisconsin Women's Hockey team tied Marian 2-2 on Saturday night. 

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Falcon struck first as Natasha Wanless (Madison, Wis.) scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season at 7:46 in the opening period.
-The Sabres evened the score seven minutes later on Hailey Miller's goal.
-Entering the second period tied 1-1, Kristen Kennedy (London, Ontario) gave the Falcons another lead five minutes into the frame. The goal was Kennedy's second this season.
-Sally Moris took advantage of a power play opportunity to even the score once again for Marian at 12:45 in the second.
-Neither team managed to score in the third period or overtime, ending the game in a 2-2 draw.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
-This was the 23rd game between Concordia Wisconsin and Marian in Women's Hockey program history. The Falcons are 18-3-2 in the series. The first meeting between these teams was on November 11, 2007.
