Women's Hockey stunned in overtime setback at Aurora

GENEVA, Ill. – Nicole McKernan of Aurora scored her third goal of the game with 27 seconds left in overtime, stunning the Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Hockey team in NCHA play Saturday. The goal dealt the Falcons a 3-2 setback against Aurora.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The only two players to score goals on Saturday was McKernan and Lexi Holman (Sauk Rapids, Minn.) of the Falcons. Holman struck first, scoring 2:37 into the game off an assist from Madi Chapman (Rogers, Minn.).

- McKernan answered with a first-period score with 1:05 left, with Marissa Dunbar and Olivia Matson picking up assists on the play. The Falcons would respond early in the second period as Holman, the Falcons career goals leader, scored 50 seconds into the frame off an assist from Ellie Woodman (Janesville, Wis.).

- McKernan had the game's final two goals, the tying score coming 4:29 into the second period. That would be all the scoring until 27 seconds left in overtime, as Lexie Martinez and Dunbar assisted on the game-winning score.

- Christina Pattengale (Portage, Mich.) finished the game with 22 saves for the Falcons. Chiara Pfosi tallied 42 stops for Aurora in picking up the win.

- The Falcons will host Aurora in a rare Monday afternoon game at the Ozaukee Ice Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 1 p.m.
