Men's, Women's Hockey ready for Pink the Rink
MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's and Women's Hockey programs will host the annual "Pink the Rink" weekend at the Ozaukee Ice Center this Friday and Saturday, January 26 and 27. The event will feature three games, and the Falcons will wear Pink jerseys with those jerseys being raffled off.
The Women's Hockey Team is home for two games this weekend, beginning the weekend Friday night at home against Finlandia at 7 p.m. The Falcons will take on the Lions once again Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m., followed by a Men's Hockey contest against Lake Forest at 7 p.m.
Both teams will raise money, with each program giving to a different organization. The Men's team is set to continue a partnership with Angel on My Shoulder with all the funds going towards the organization.
"We are excited to again be partnering with Angel on My Shoulder for the 4th annual Pink the Rink night," Men's Hockey head coach Jasen Wise said. "There is nothing better than supporting a cause that is much bigger than all of us"
The Women's team will donate the money raised at the Pink the Rink event to a local hospital and the money will go towards mammograms.
"Hosting pink the rink is a great event to bring awareness and raise some funds in the fight against cancer," said Women's Hockey head coach Steve Fabiilli. "Our student athletes have really rallied around this cause and hope to have a positive impact on our community"
The main source of funds for the programs will be jersey says. The pink Concordia University Wisconsin Hockey jerseys can be purchased at the games this weekend. Jerseys can also be purchased by contacting either Wise (Jasen.Wise@cuw.edu) or Fabiilli (Stephen.Fabiilli@cuw.edu).
The Women's jerseys can be purchased for $100, or $105 with shipping. The Falcons will be selling an all pink jersey, along with a pink and white jersey.
The Men's will be selling previous years Pink the Rink jerseys for $50. In addition, the 2018 Senior Class pink jerseys from this season can be purchased for $150.
