Pattengale solid in Falcons scoreless tie with Northland

MEQUON, Wis. – For the third straight game, the Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Hockey team shut its opponent out. The only difference in Saturday's shutout, was the Falcons also couldn't find a goal in a scoreless tie against Northland. The game was the final one of the first half for the Falcons, who won't return to the ice for over a month.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Christina Pattengale (Portage, Mich.) became the first Falcons player to record five shutouts in her career with the 29-save effort. Most of those stops came in the first two periods as she made 23 saves over the first 40 minutes. The Falcons dominated possession in the third and each time fired two shots on goal in the overtime session.

- The LumberJills also received a solid goaltending performance Saturday with a 40-save effort by Maggie Cusey.

- Both teams had power play opportunities on Saturday and both penalty kills were on point. The Falcons killed off all six of the Northland power plays, while CUW was 0-for-4 with the advantage.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Pattengale was tied with Lea Jondal for the most shutouts in program history but broke that tie with her performance Saturday. She recorded two shutouts in each of her first two seasons with the program.

- Pattengale also moved into the second place on the career saves list, behind only Jondal. Pattengale has 1,074 saves and is just 74 saves shy of Jondal's career mark.

UP NEXT
