Thomson, Bachman lead Women's Hockey to another bounce-back win

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Just as they have all season, the Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Hockey team responded from a tough Friday defeat for a Saturday win, this time shutting out Morrisville State Saturday afternoon. Breanna Thomson made 41 saves and Chloe Bachman scored in the second period for the 1-0 victory.

THE BASICS
- Final Score:
Concordia Wisconsin 1, Morrisville State 0
- Location: Morrisville State IcePlex – Morrisville, New York
- Records: Concordia Wisconsin 6-4; Morrisville State 7-3-1

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bachman (St. Peter, Minn.) scored the game's lone goal 4:35 into the second period. Freshman Ally Hull (Wasilla, Alaska) assisted on Bachman's score, the first goal of the season for the senior forward.

- The story of the game was the play of Thomson (St. Marys, Ontario), who silenced the Mustangs with a 41-save shutout. Thomson made 18 of those stops to keep the game scoreless in the opening period and added 15 in the third stanza to keep the Falcons 1-0 lead intact.

- After a Friday game which saw both teams commit few penalties, both spent more time in the box Saturday. The Falcons were whistled for seven penalties, but impressed on the penalty kill as Morrisville State finished 0-for-7 on the power play. CUW was 0-for-4 with the advantage.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- CUW improves to 5-0 on Saturday's during the season and four of those times the Falcons responded from a Friday loss for an impressive bounce-back win.
