Women's Hockey edged by St. Norbert

DE PERE, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Hockey team saw its three-game NCHA winning streak snapped with a 4-3 setback at St. Norbert Friday night. Lexi Holman scored a pair of third-period goals for the Falcons, the second which made the score 4-3 with 3:46 left but that would be all the scoring in the NCHA tilt.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons struck first Friday on the fourth goal of the season from junior Kristen Kennedy (London, Ontario). Holman and Natasha Wanless (Madison, Wis.) set up the score, which came 14:51 into the opening stanza for the 1-0 Falcons lead.

- The Green Knights responded less than two minutes later to tie the score at 1-1 heading into the first intermission. The second period was all St. Norbert as the home team put up two more goals, putting the Falcons in a two-goal deficit heading into the third.

- Holman (Sauk Rapids, Minn.) made the score 3-2 with a power play score just 3:49 into the final period. Kennedy had an assist on the play, as did Issy Bilton (Burlington, Ontario).

- The Green Knights went back up two goals on a Lisa Lenell score, but Holman added her second tally of the period with 3:46 left on the clock, Wanless again picking up an assist. Holman now has four goals on the season, tied with Kennedy for the team lead.

- Breanna Thomson (St. Marys, Ontario) made 27 saves for the Falcons. CUW was outshot 31-20 in the game as Brianna Kelly tallied 17 stops for St. Norbert.

- Both teams did a good job of staying out of the box on Saturday as the two combined for just five penalties. CUW had the only power play tally in the contest.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Holman remains fifth on the Falcons all-time goal leaderboard but is closing in on the top spot. She now has lit the lamp 33 times in her career, just three shy of the program's all-time leader, Sarah Luberda. Luberda skated for the Falcons from 2007-11 and scored 36 goals in her career.

- Holman's power play goal was the 10th of her career, the most of any Falcon all time. She entered Friday in a six-way tie for first, Luberda also being one of the players with nine power play scores.
