Women's Basketball hosts Alverno in Pink Game on Wednesday

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin will look to get back in the win column when it hosts Alverno College on Wednesday at 7 p.m. inside the R. John Buuck Field House. The Falcons are looking to avenge an early season loss to the Inferno.

The Falcons are supporting the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Coalition on Wednesday by wearing pink uniforms. Throughout the game donations will be accepted to benefit breast cancer research and awareness.

The Falcons have already won the NAC North Division title outright and clinched the No. 2 seed in the NAC Tournament, but were defeated handily by the Inferno in late November, 69-50.

During the Nov. 24 matchup, the Falcons were outscored 36-24 in the second half and shot just 29.0 percent from the field. Juniors Katie Luethe (Oshkosh, Wis.) and Camille Parsons (Urbana, Ill.) led the team with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Kristen Speerschneider and Devon Gorman combined to shoot 13-of-24 from the field for the Inferno, as each scored 21 points in the win. Gorman also grabbed 12 rebounds, while Kayla Kennedy finished with nine points, five rebounds and five assists.

Wednesday's game will feature the NAC's top two offenses in regards to turnovers. CUW is averaging 13.4 miscues, while AC's is committing 14.6 turnovers per game in league play. Both are also stingy on the defensive end of the court, with the Inferno giving up 51.5 points per game and the Falcons allowing 52.8 per game in league play.
