Falcon women's basketball dominates Marian 61-39 on the Road

FOND DU LAC, Wis.-  Concordia Wisconsin players executed the game plan with skill and acumen; working for open shots against the Marian zone, defending the Sabres' 3-point shooters and controlling the boards on the way to an easy win Thursday evening in Fond du lac.

Marian, now 3-6 in league play and 4-11 overall, never led after the first two minutes and CUW's halftime cushion was already 31-18.

Senior Tiffany Hendrickson (Ingleside, Ill.) led the Falcons with a 13 point performance while teammates Katie Luethe (Jr./ Oshkosh, wis.) and freshman Megan Coenen (Pulaski, Wis.) added 11 and 10 respectively.

Coenen, Allison Paluchniak (Fr./ Oostburg, Wis.), and Jasmine Williams (Fr./ Chicago, Ill.) combined to hit 11 of 13 shots from the field.

Not a single Sabre player reached double figures.

Concordia's relentless man-man pressure forced the Sabres into 22 turnovers and 33% field goal shooting.  Meanwhile Stacey Brunner-Jones' team was working their short corner zone offense to the tune of 48% field goal accuracy.

"We prepared well and played well... a good night's work," offered Brunner-Jones.

CUW, 9-5 overall, will take a 7-2 conference mark to Aurora Saturday for a 2:00pm matchup with the Spartans.
