Falcon women hand MSOE 65-42 defeat to take over first place

MILWAUKEE, Wis.-  Everybody got into the act with 11 CUW players scoring points as Stacey Brunner-Jones' Falcons (5-2) won their fourth straight game and in the process sent the MSOE Raiders to a sixth consecutive defeat Thursday evening.

MSOE was competitive for a portion of the first half, but CUW still managed a double digit (34-22) lead by the break.

The Falcons got a team-high14 point effort from freshman reserve Allison Paluchniak (Oostburg, Wis.) who hit six of her eight shots including two of three from beyond the arc.  Camille Parsons (Jr./ Urbana, Ill.) and Megan Coenen (Fr./ Pulaski, wis.) were the other Falcons in double figures with 12 and 10 points respectively.

Parsons and Brittany Zietlow (Sr. /Oak Creek, Wis.) combined to hand out 13 assists.

"I was very happy with how we shared the basketball and made the extra pass- very unselfish team play,"  said Brunner-Jones.

Megan Kroll played well for the hosts, scoring 19 points and dishing out four assists of her own.

CUW shot a respectable 46% from the floor and won the rebound battle by a 34-30 count.

Concordia hosts Maranatha on Saturday at 2:00pm.  The Crusaders (4-1/ 2-1 NAC) fell at Lakeland in overtime 75-68, leaving CUW (5-2/ 4-1 NAC) in sole possession of first place in the NAC North.
