Men’s Cross Country finishes year at NCAA Midwest Regional

WINNECONNE, Wis. – The CUW men's cross country team completed the 2019 season with a 31st-place finish at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regionals. The Falcons finished with 885 points. The Cardinals of North Central of Illinois claimed the regional title with 47 points.

"The team was ready today," said head coach Russ De Lap. "We had some really outstanding performances today. We had the best overall team performance of the season. I am so proud of how this team ran together and for one another."

Sophomore Jack Kral (Kohler, Wis.) was the fastest Falcon on Saturday in 134th place with a season-best time at 27:35.1.

Senior Ryan Teigen (Fargo, N.D.) closed his cross country career with a time of 28:40.6 for a 177th-place finish.

In 194th place was sophomore William Ebel (Macomb, Mich.) at 29:08.2

Freshman Zachary Heckman (Sussex, Wis.) secured the 199th spot with a time of 29:19.3

Freshman Quinn Hoopman (Cedar Grove, Wis.) clocked in at 30:01.3 to finish in 210th place.

Sophomore Derrick Folkman (Bonduel, Wis.) crossed the finish line with a season-best time of 31:28.1 in 231st place.

In 235th place was freshman Derek Ruona (Grafton, Wis.) at 32:08.2.

Ryan Cutter of Chicago won with a time of 24:32.6

The Falcons will return back to action in 2020.
