Men’s Cross Country finishes fifth at Ken Weidt Invitational

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW men's cross country team opened the 2019 season with a fifth-place finish at the CUW Ken Weidt Invitational on Saturday. The Falcons finished with 117 points, St. Norbert won the meet with 25 points.

"It was a great day getting to see everybody race today," said head coach Russ DeLap. "Most raced faster than expected so that is an awesome sign. It was a great team effort for both teams."

Senior Ryan Teigen (Fargo, N.D.) recorded a top-10 finish in 10th place at 27:58.6.

In 23rd place was sophomore William Ebel (Macomb, Mich.) at 29:21.3.

Clocking in at 29:41.5 was freshman Zachary Heckman (Sussex, Wis.) in 26th place.

Freshman Quinn Hoopman (Cedar Grove, Wis.) finished in 36th place at 30:41.8.

Crossing the finish line at 32:00.8 was sophomore Jack Kral (Kohler, Wis.) in 50th place.

In 56th place was sophomore Emmett Williams (Hartford, Wis.) at 32:52.3 and in 61st place was freshman Derek Ruona (Grafton, Wis.) at 33:50.1.

Sophomore Derrick Folkman (Bonduel, Wis.) rounded out the flock in 65th place at 34:46.1.

The Falcons return to action on Oct. 4 at The Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugold Invite.
