Men’s Cross Country will compete at NACC Championships

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons will fly south on Saturday to compete at the 2018 NACC Cross Country Championships hosted by Aurora at the Oakhurst Forest Preserve. The race is scheduled to begin at noon.

"I am excited to see what our teams will do," said head coach Russ De Lap. "We train all year with the vision of peaking at the end of the year. The team has trained really hard all year and now is the time to put it all together. This team has done everything I have asked of them and they are in great shape right now. We just have to have everyone race great all on the same day. If that happens we will do well."

Aurora has won five of the last six titles, including the last three. CUW has won the conference crown in 2010 and 2011.

A Falcon has claimed the individual NACC title four different times. Micah Lorenzen won in 2006 and 2007 and Andy Ashenden won in 2009 and 2010.

Last year, the Blue and White finished in sixth place at the NACC Championships.

Matthew Wilcox is the lone senior on the 2018 team.

Freshman Wesley Schiek (Oshkosh, Wis.) posted the fastest-Falcon time of the year at Benedictine at 25:59.0.

The Falcons claimed NACC Runner of the Week honors twice in 2018. Junior Craig Reese (Germantown, Wis.) won on Oct. 1 and Wesley Schiek claimed the title on Oct. 8.
