Men's Volleyball season comes to a close

AURORA, Ill. -- Concordia Wisconsin accomplished many goals during the 2019 season and despite a 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-14) loss at Aurora in the opening round of the NACC Tournament, it can be viewed as successful.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin stayed with Aurora late into each set, but the hosts put together scoring runs that were the difference. The Falcons were within three points, 19-16, late in the second set and trailed 17-13 midway through the third stanza.
- The visitors had their best offensive showing in the second set, hitting .292 and ended with a .152 hitting percentage for the match. The Spartans hit over .300 in each set.
- Freshman James Althoff (Kenosha, Wis.) posted 12 kills and an impressive .522 hitting percentage, to go along with two service aces, four digs and two blocks. Sophomore Sam Rovik (Silver Lake, Wis.) had five kills, while freshman Connor Muff (Kenosha, Wis.) dished out 18 assists and had three blocks.
- Freshman Cody Sciabica (Henderson, Nev.) added three blocks defensively.

MATCH NOTES
- Concordia Wisconsin ends the season with nine victories, including five in NACC play and six at home during year two of the program's existence.
- All but a handful of season and match records were rewritten this season.
