Falcons’ offense stalls at Marian

FOND du LAC, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin wasn't able to get its offense on track during a Wednesday night NACC match at Marian, losing 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-15) inside Sadoff Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons wasn't on during the opening set, coupled with the Sabres coming out hot put the visitors in an 11-4 deficit early. They worked to get back into it, but Marian's .500 hitting percentage was too much to overcome.
- The second set had Concordia Wisconsin put together a 4-1 scoring run midway through to get within four points, 17-13, but points were traded the rest of the way until Marian won 25-17 to take a 2-0 lead in the league matchup.
- The third set was similar to the opening, as the Sabres jumped out a lead that couldn't be overcome. The Falcons ended the set with a 6-3 scoring run.
- Concordia Wisconsin hit -.013 in the match, compared to Marian's .353. The visitors had a solo block and eight assisted throughout the three sets.
- Freshman James Althoff (Kenosha, Wis.) led the Falcons with seven kills, while freshman Connor Muff (Kenosha, Wis.) dished out 13 assists, dug nine attack attempts and had a service ace. Sophomores Isaac Glynn (Byron, Minn.) and Blake Schwandt (Kenosha, Wis.) each had three kills, while Schwandt recording three blocks.
- Jon Smallpage led Marian with 12 kills, three service aces and three blocks, while Ben Walter had 11 kills. Joey Dittman recorded 32 assists and seven digs, and Cullen Liberski finished with 15 digs.
