Men’s Volleyball swept at home

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin played its best volleyball during set two, but its offense stalled during a 3-0 (25-16, 26-24, 25-17) loss to Marian on Wednesday night during NACC play inside the R. John Buuck Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concordia Wisconsin hit .154 in set two and led 24-18 after a service error by Marian. With a point needed to even the match at a set apiece, the Falcons served an error and then the Sabres rattled off seven more points to earn a 26-24 set win.
- The Falcons offense couldn't find its groove, hitting .097 as a team compared to the Sabres .366.
- Freshman James Althoff (Kenosha, Wis.) led the home team with 11 kills and seven digs, while freshman Connor Muff (Kenosha, Wis.) dished out 26 assists.
- Sophomore Sam Rovik (Silver Lake, Wis.) had eight kills and seven digs. Sophomore Blake Schwandt (Kenosha, Wis.) ended with four kills, two block assists and a solo block.
- Jon Smallpage paced Marian with 14 kills and Ben Walter recorded 10 kills and seven digs. Jacob DeGroot had five block assists and a solo block, while Joey Dittman tallied 32 assists.

GAME NOTES
- The Falcons are 6-6 at the midway point of the season and sixth in the NACC standings are having not won a match during their inaugural season in 2018.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- Concordia Wisconsin travels to Illinois Tech and Aurora for NACC matches on Friday and Saturday. First serves are scheduled for 7 pm and 1 pm, respectively.
