Men’s Volleyball splits non-conference matches

HIRAM, Ohio – Concordia Wisconsin moved to 3-2 on the season on Saturday before suffering its second setback of the 2019 season. The Falcons defeated Hiram 3-0 (25-7, 25-16, 25-21), but lost to Loras 3-0 (18-25, 17-25, 20-25).

HOW IT HAPPENED
Concordia Wisconsin 3, Hiram 0
- The Falcons were on fire offensively, hitting .271 at the net as a team with three players recording a .300 hitting percentage or better. Meanwhile, the defense was in sync from the opening serve limiting Hiram to 18 kills and 24 errors during the three-setter.
- Concordia Wisconsin was in control from the start, putting together a .400 hitting percentage while limiting the Terriers to an eye-popping -.524 hitting percentage after having two kills and 12 errors.
- Freshman James Althoff (Kenosha, Wis.) recorded 12 kills and five digs, while freshman Connor Muff (Kenosha, Wis.) tallied 24 assists, six service aces, six digs and two service aces.
- Sophomores Isaac Glynn (Byron, Minn.) and Blake Schwandt (Kenosha, Wis.) each had six kills. As a team, the Falcons recorded 16 block assists, with freshman Cody Sciabica (Henderson, Nev.) registering six block assists.
- Kilvio Montero had eight kills for the Terriers.

Loras 3, Concordia Wisconsin 0
- Concordia Wisconsin was limited offensively all match, hitting a season-low. 013 at the net, while Loras registered a .259 hitting percentage, to go along with 14 block assists.
- Althoff and sophomore Sam Rovik (Silver Lake, Wis.) each had six kills for the Falcons, and Muff dished out 19 assists.
