Men’s Volleyball falls in home finale

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin jumped out a strong start, but lengthy scoring runs by Aurora proved to be too much on Friday night during a 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-17) NACC contest. Strong starts to sets put the Falcons in strong early positions, but the Spartans offense was the difference inside the R. John Buuck Fieldhouse.

QUOTING HEAD COACH CURTIS MADSON

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A 5-0 run to open the match by Concordia Wisconsin provided an early glimpse into the hard work put in over the course of this season. Freshman Sam Rovik (Silver Lake, Wis.) tallied one of his nine kills for the evening in that opening onslaught, as well as his lone ace. Four digs in the match rounded out what was an extremely strong night for him.
- Joining the attack for the Falcons were freshmen Blake Schwandt (Kenosha, Wis.), Isaac Glynn (Byron, Minn.) and sophomore Matthew Korman (Roscoe, Ill.) who all had two kills apiece. Schwandt built upon his late-season improvements at the net to lead the hosts with two blocks.
- Glynn and Korman formed the setting duo for Concordia Wisconsin, contributing 11 and seven assists, respectively. Glynn also led a busy Falcon defense, adding six of the team's 25 digs on the evening.

THE OPPOSITION
- Aurora had a .330 attack percentage and hit .500 in the opening frame. Ten players found their names in the box score with a kill, led by 10 from Jack Fischer and nine from Justin Elliot.
- Justin Yost posted 35 assists to go with three kills, as the man directing the Spartans attack.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- The Falcons season concludes with a road tilt at Benedictine at 1 pm on Saturday.
