Lakeland downs Men's Volleyball in NACC play

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Volleyball team was swept by Lakeland, 3-0, in NACC play Saturday afternoon. The Muskies won the three sets by scores of 25-11, 25-17, 25-9, dropping the Falcons to 0-2 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Muskies controlled the match from the start, which included a 25-11 first-set score. Lakeland hit .360 in the opening set, while the Falcons posted a -.136 attack percentage. The second set was the Falcons closest, a 25-17 decision before the Muskies rolled to a 25-9, third-set victory.

- Five different Falcons posted double-digit kills on Saturday, led by Sam Rovik (Silver Lake, Wis.) and Will Driver (Mokena, Ill.) who paced the team with four each.

- Isaac Glynn (Byron, Minn.) handed out 11 assists and tallied three kills and five digs for a solid match for the Falcons. Jeremy Theis (Port Washington, Wis.) paced the team with seven digs, while Rovik added five.

THE OPPOSITION
- Desmond Williams had a strong match for the Muskies, connecting on 11 kills on just 14 total attacks, good for a .786 attack percentage. Dakota Hunter added seven kills and seven digs for Lakeland, while Addison Mertler finished the contest with 29 assists.

UP NEXT
- CUW has a decent break before its next match, which is set for February 23 at Aurora. The Falcons and Spartans will begin their NACC match at 7 p.m.
