Men's Track and Field Take on Karl Schlender Invitational

WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Falcon men's Track and Field team competed at the Karl Schlender Invitational on Saturday at UW-Whitewater.

As a team, the Falcons took fifth place with a score of 26.5 points, while host school UW-Whitewater claimed first.

Senior Isaac Zahrt (Kronenwetter, Wis.) earned six points for the Falcons and took third in the triple jump, reaching a distance of 12.19 meters.

In the weight throw, sophomore Mitchell Moeller (Cedarburg, Wis.) placed fourth and added four-and-a-half points to the Falcons' total by throwing a distance of 15.56 meters.

Mitchell Moeller added three more points in the shot put when he threw a distance of 12.83.

Also scoring four points for the Falcons was sophomore Bernie Van Den Heuvel (Valders, Wis.), who placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.16 seconds.

In the pole vault, sophomore Nate Waech (West Bend, Wis.) earned fifth place and cleared a height of 3.80 meters.

Adding three points to Falcons' score was the 4x400 meter relay, which placed sixth with a time of 3:55.68. Members of that relay include senior Konnor Kingsmore (Colorado Springs, Colo.), junior Ryan Klug (Arlington, Va.), junior Josh Peterson (Palatine, Ill.), and freshman Avery Horvath (Greenwood, Wis).

Josh Peterson also contributed two points in the 800-meter dash, placing seventh with a time of 2:12.23.

The Concordia Falcons look forward from here to their competition at the Dubuque Kenneth "Moco" Mercer Open in Iowa, slated for January 28th, 2023.
