Men’s Track & Field finishes 2020 season

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW men's track & field team was able to compete in eight meets during the 2019-20 indoor season.

The Falcons top finish as a team came at the Ripon Red Hawk Invite and at the NACC Indoor Track & Field Championships in fourth place.

Five Falcons earned medals at the NACC Indoor Track & Field Championships. CUW finished in second place in the 4x400 meter relay. The team of senior Henry Jensen (Muskego, Wis.), sophomore Christian Prohl (Downers Grove, Ill.), junior Preus Hasselbrook (Missoula, Mont.) and senior Samual Spranger (Fond du Lac, Wis.) clocked in at 3:29.64.

Junior Brandon Hargis (Henderson, Nev.) won the silver medal in the shot put at 14.05 meters.

Samual Spranger also secured the silver medal in the 400-meter dash at 50.50.

Spranger recorded the 43rd-fastest time in NCAA Division III at the UW-Stevens Point Final Qualifier in the 400-meter dash at 49.88.

CUW had four individual event champions on the year with Christian Prohl winning the 400-meter dash at Ripon at 52.31, Samual Spranger winning the 600-meter dash at UW-Whitewater at 1:24.93 and the 400-meter dash at UW-Stevens Point at the Final Qualifier. At UW-Platteville, the Falcons were the fastest team in the 4x200 meter relay. The team of junior Marquis Thorn (Atlanta, Ga.), Preus Hasselbrook, Christian Prohl and Samual Spranger finished at 1:34.87.

Concordia Wisconsin will graduate two seniors in Henry Jensen and Samual Spranger. Spranger qualified for the 2018 NACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in the 400-meter dash.

The Falcons will return to action for the 2020-21 indoor season.
