Men’s Track & Field finishes fourth at Wisconsin Private College Championships

BELOIT, Wis. – The Falcons finished in fourth place at the Wisconsin Private College Championships on Saturday. The Blue and White had 90 points, while Carroll led the nine schools with 233 points.

Junior Samual Spranger (Fond du Lac, Wis.) was the champion in the 400-meter run at 48.78. He also finished in third place in the 200-meter dash at 23.19.

At the high jump pit, freshman Austin Lopez (Ripon, Wis.) posted a jump of 1.80 meters in second place. Lopez also finished seventh in the long jump at 5.70 meters.

The pole vault saw senior Grant Johnson (Oconomowoc, Wis.) finish in second place at 4.10 meters.

Freshman Jackson Kral (Kohler, Wis.) notched a second-place finish in the 5000-meter run at 16:29.00.

The Falcons finished the 4x100 relay in second place. The team of sophomore Preus Hasselbrook (Missoula, Mont.), junior Brandon Wooden (Milwaukee, Wis.), freshman Nathan Maldonado (Saint Charles, Mo.) and sophomore Paul Leahy (Eldridge, Iowa) crossed the finish line at 43.63.

Brandon Wooden earned a third-place finish in the triple jump at 12.61 meters.

Freshman Gideon Cain (Cedarburg, Wis.) had a toss of 12.82 in the shot put for a third-place finish. He also had the best CUW mark in the hammer throw at 30.32 meters for a 10th-place finish.

In the weight throw, Sophomore Brandon Hargis (Henderson, Nev.) posted a throw of 40.41 in third place. He also had a javelin throw of 42.07 meters for a sixth-place finish.

Preus Hasselbrook ended up in seventh in the 400-meter at 1:00.63.

In the 110-meter hurdles, junior Henry Jensen (Muskego, Wis.) finished in 10th place at 18.90.

In the 1500-meter run, freshman William Ebel (Macomb, Mich.) crossed the finish line at 4:27.91 in 12th place.

Nathan Maldonado finished in 20th place in the 100-meter dash at 12.36.

The Falcons return to action on Friday at the Benedictine Relays.
