Men’s Track & Field finishes fourth at Ripon

RIPON, Wis. – The Falcons finished in fourth place at the Ripon Red Hawk Invitational. The men's team recorded 30 points to finish tied with Wisconsin Lutheran. UW-Oshkosh won the 11-team competition with 272.2 points.

"Today was a great day for our team," said head coach Russ DeLap. "There were so many excellent performances by so many. Being at where we are in our season we are certainly moving in the right direction. We have three weeks until conference to continue this trend."

Junior Samual Spranger (Fond du Lac, Wis.) crossed the finish line in second place in the 400-meter dash at 50.18.

Freshman Gideon Cain (Cedarburg, Wis.) posted a top-five finish in the shot put in fifth place at 12.96 meters.

Sophomore Craig Reese (Germantown, Wis.) led the flock of Falcons in the mile run at 4:24.91 in fourth place.

Junior Brandon Wooden (Milwaukee, Wis.) jumped 13.14 meters in the triple jump in fifth place.

In sixth place in the pole vault, senior Grant Johnson (Oconomowoc, Wis.) cleared 3.95 meters.

Sophomore Paul Leahy (Eldridge, Iowa) clocked in at 23.41 in the 200-meter dash in seventh place.

Sophomore Emmett Williams (Hartford, Wis.) recorded a fifth-place finish in the 800-meter run at 2:02.35.

At the weight thrown, sophomore Brandon Hargis (Henderson, Nev.) placed 10th at 12.46 meters.

Sophomore Marquis Thorn (Atlanta, Ga.) led the Falcons in the 60-meter dash in 10th place at 7.27.

In the 60-meter hurdles, junior Henry Jensen (Muskego, Wis.) placed 12th at 10.18.

In the 5000-meter run, freshman Ryan Dziengel (Glendale, Wis.) finished in 17th place at 18:08.72.

Freshman Austin Lopez (Ripon, Wis.) cleared 1.75 meters in the high jump and 6.11 meters in the long jump in 10th place.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday at UW-Platteville.
