Spranger finishes 16th in the 400 at NCAA Division III Championships

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Samual Spranger concluded his impressive sophomore season Friday at the place all Division III Track & Field athletes hope to compete at: The NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Spranger, who ran in the 400-meter dash prelims, finished 16th in the event.

Spranger (Fond du Lac, Wis.) ran a time of 48.30 as he was in the first heat (of three) Friday afternoon. He did not qualify for Saturday's finals, as the top finisher in each heat along with the next six best finishers qualify for the finals.

The 2018 season was a good one for Spranger as he set school records in the 400-meter dash during both the indoor and outdoor seasons. His outdoor record of 48.09, which came at the NACC Championships in early May, qualified him for the NCAA Championships.
