Carleton downs Men's Tennis in non-conference play

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Tennis team continued its challenging spring trip against Carleton College Thursday. The Falcons were downed by the Knights, 9-0.

Carleton (10-6) took five of the six singles matches in straight sets with only No. 1 singles need a tiebreaking set. That's where senior Russell Johnson (Monticello, Minn.) would be edged by Ezra Frankel, 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8).

The doubles matches all went to the Knights as well, including an 8-0 sweep at No. 3. The closest doubles match came at No. 1 where Johnson and senior Skip Turner (Eau Claire, Wis.) fell 8-4.

CUW (2-9) will close out its spring trip tomorrow in a match against Nebraska Wesleyan.
