Justin Totsky named Academic All-American

MEQUON, Wis. – The College Sports Information Directors of America voted Justin Totsky to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Team. The members of CoSIDA voted Totsky to the Academic All-America Second Team.

"I am truly humbled and honored to have received this award," said Totsky. "I greatly appreciate the recognition. I am extremely thankful for all my family, friends, teammates, and teachers who have continuously supported me throughout my time at Concordia. I am especially thankful for Coach Saleska and the rest of the coaching staff for creating an environment that allows its players to grow and thrive both athletically and academically."

A junior from Colgate, Wisconsin, Totsky is earning the honor for the first time in his career.

He started 13 games for the Blue and White.

Totsky has a 4.00 grade-point average, with a degree in accounting.

The Wisconsin native helped anchor a defense that held opponents to one goal or less on 15 different occasions in 2018.

"Justin Totsky is an outstanding example of what a true student athlete is all about," said head coach Dr. Tom Saleska. "His priority is his academic success, but he also excels on the soccer field as one of the best center backs in the conference."

The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
