Men’s Soccer duo claims USC All-Region honors

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's soccer program landed two United Soccer Coaches All-Central Region selections on Monday evening. The senior duo of Gavin Falotico and Dagoberto Diaz were two of the 29 athletes named to the All-Region teams. Falotico was named to the first team, while Diaz earned third-team honors. 

A senior from Palatine, Illinois, Falotico earned USC All-Central Region honors all four years at CUW. He was a member of the USC All-Region Second Team in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

In October, Falotico earned Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference All-Conference First Team honors for the fourth-straight season.

The Illinois native helped anchor a defense that held opponents to one goal or less 1 times during the year 15 times during the year and eight shutouts.

Falotico tallied an assist against Carroll, Concordia Chicago and at Rockford.

He is the first All-Central Region First Team selection for CUW since Jacob Pope in 2013.

A senior from Woodburn, Oregon, Diaz is claiming USC All-Region honors for the third-straight season. He had claimed third team honors in 2016 and 2017.

The CUW senior claimed All-NACC First Team honors for the third-straight season in October.

Diaz finished the season with 21 points. He led the Falcons with seven assists. He also scored seven goals.

Against Marian, he scored three assists and had a season-high performance of two goals and an assist against Concordia Chicago.
