Men's Soccer comeback effort falls just short at UW-Platteville

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Soccer team dropped a 4-3 match at UW-Platteville Sunday afternoon. The Falcons, who trailed 4-1 at one point, scored in the 84th minute to cut the Pioneers lead to one but couldn't get the game-tying goal, dropping them to 2-2 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Senior Dagoberto Diaz (Woodburn, Ore.) made his 2018 debut Sunday and made his impact felt with a goal and an assist. The Falcons struck first, as Nick Anweiler (Plainfield, Ill.) scored off an assist from Diaz in the 12th minute.

- The rest of the first half was controlled by the Pioneers as they scored three times in a 3:03 span, the first of those coming in the 21st minute. UW-Platteville would add an early second-half score, building a 4-1 lead.

- Diaz netted his first goal of the season in the 68th minute and Tyler Salvador (Lindenhurst, Ill.) provided his first career goal in the 84th minute, bring the Pioneers lead down to one. Charlie Danek (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) assisted on the Salvador score.

- The Falcons finished the match with just six shots, three of those on goal, all three resulting in scores. UW-Platteville fired 13 shots, seven on goal as Joshua Bobke (Oconomowoc, Wis.) finished the match with four saves.
