Men's Soccer Training Camp: Falcons ready for another strong year

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Soccer team has consistently put together strong seasons on the pitch. The Falcons expect 2018 to be no different as they recently began training camp in anticipation of another successful year.

CUW is coming off a conference championship season in 2017, the team's second league title in the past three years. The Falcons return several key cogs from last year's squad while adding a talented freshmen class. CUWFalcons.com gets you ready for the 2018 season.

KEY RETURNERS: The Falcons have several key pieces coming back, including a pair of All-Region performers. Gavin Falotico was a Second Team All-Region pick last year and is a three-time First Team All-NACC selection as well. Falotico will anchor a defense that returns other key pieces such as Justin Totsky and Charlie Danek, among others.

Dagoberto Diaz had an outstanding 2017 and returns to lead a talented midfield group. Diaz was a Third Team All-Region pick. At the forward position Zach Gyuricza and Cristian Tyrpak lead a strong returning group as both players showcased the ability to score last season.

Nate Yeager started all 18 matches at keeper for the Falcons last season and is back for another run with the team. Yeager made 54 saves and posted a .711 save percentage as a sophomore in 2017.

THE SCHEDULE: The Falcons will open with six non-conference matches before closing the season with 11-straight NACC contests. CUW will battle Beloit, Northland, and Carroll at home in the non-conference slate and will visit St. Norbert, UW-Platteville, and UW-Whitewater.

HEAD COACH TOM SALESKA: Tom Saleska enters his 26th year as the Falcons head coach in 2018. Saleska has won 313 games during his time with CUW and has been named NACC Coach of the Year in two of the past three seasons (2015, 2017). The Falcons have won 10 or more games during 23 of Saleska's 25 seasons with the team.
