Scouting report: Dominican men's soccer machine rolls into Mequon Saturday

MEQUON, Wis.- It's the NAC "match of the year" Saturday at CUW's Fitting Field as the Falcons (7-1-0 in the NAC) host perennially undefeated Dominican at 1:00pm.

After picking up three more road victories in Northern Athletics Conference action over the past 10 days, Dominican (12-2-1 overall) jumped up to sixth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Top 25, and to 13th in the D3Soccer.com Top 25 national poll for week seven.

The Stars (9-0-0 in the NAC) defeated Aurora, 1-0 and MSOE 2-1 recently before disposing of Rockford 9-0.  MSOE is the only NAC team to score a goal against Dominican this season.  CUW's only conference loss was a 3-2 double OT defeat at the hands of Aurora.

DomU boasts the nation's third most powerful offense, averaging 4.00 goals per game. Senior Ryan Roberts (Elmhurst, Ill.) currently leads the Stars with ten goals on the season, followed by Ryan Ybarra (Des Plaines, Ill.) with eight and Andy Lynch (Hawthorn Woods, Ill.) who has found the back of the net seven times.

Dominican's offense has yet to be shut out while the Stars' defense has posted nine shutouts, the sixth most in the country. Dominican's 0.34 goals against average is the seventh best nationally and tops in the NAC.

The Stars have won the NAC championship every year since the league came into existance, compiling an incredible 70-0-2 overall regular season record since 2007.
