MEQUON, Wis. Undermanned Rockford "packed it in" defensively to hold down the CUW attack, but the host Falcons still managed a 3-0 win Tuesday afternoon at Fitting Field. The victory was the 250th of Coach Tom Saleska's collegiate career.
Only four minutes into the contest Concordia's Jacob Pope (Jr./ Muskego, Wis.) took a perfect pass from Diego Campos (So./ Milwaukee, Wis.) and weaved his way to the initial score.
Teammate Ryan Carey (Fr./ Appleton, Wis.) found the back of the net on another Campos feed at the 25 minute mark to make it 2-0 but the Regents still fought gamely from then on.
Rockford goalie Mick Goulding made 15 saves, some of them outstanding, before Concordia's Jake Barnes (FR./ Fort Atkinson, Wis.) got the final CUW tally at 65:52.
Saleska's Falcons (4-3-0 overall) travel to UW-Oshkosh on Thursday for a non conference matchup.
