ALBION, Mich. Tom Saleska's booters will bring to 2-0 record back to Mequon after defeating host Albion 3-1 Saturday afternoon.
Ryan Carey (Fr./Appleton, Wis.) Arturo Vera (Sr./Chicago, Ill.) and Michael McCrone (So./ Janesville, Wis.) each tallied once for the Falcons who outshot the Britons by a 12-6 margin.
Carey's first score came off a Tyler Harris (Sr./ De Pere, Wis.) assist just six minutes into the contest. That 1-0 margin held up into the second half when Albion tied the score on a penalty kick.
Unfazed by the turnaround, CUW came back quickly with Vera finding the back of the net unassisted to regain the one score margin.
Zach Lemler (Sr./ West Bend, Wis.) fed McCrone for the goal that sealed the outcome in the closing minutes.
This was a contentious contest featuring five Albion yellows and one red card on the physical hosts. The Falcons lost outstanding freshman Keegan Van Dusseldorp (Burlington, Wis.) to a knee injury during the brutal affair.
