Penalty shot earns a W for CUW booters in season opener

ADRIAN, Mich.- Concordia University Men's soccer opened its season on the road in Adrian Michigan with a date against Adrian College Friday evening.

Concordia controlled the action from start to finish, but Kyle Sytsma's penalty shot goal 63:40 into the match was the only score of the match and lifted the Falcons to a 1-0 season opening victory over the Bulldogs.
The Falcon's held Adrian to four shots, only one in the second half.  Senior Sam Ische  was a perfect two for two in the save department.
Offensively Concordia peppered the Bulldog defense with 15 shots, 5 of which came from Sytsma.
This brief two game road swing in the wolverine state continues today as the Falcon's take on Adrian's fellow Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association member Albion at 3pm.
