Michigan matchups initiate CUW men's soccer season

MEQUON, Wis.- Concordia Wisconsin will hit the road for their non-conference opening weekend one week from today. Tom Saleska's Falcons travel to Adrian College for a Friday, August 31st (6:00PM) encounter with the host Bulldogs before matching up with Albion on Saturday, September 1st at 3:00PM Wisconsin time.

CUW topped Adrian 2-0 in an early season matchup last season with Zach Lemler (Senior/ West Bend, Wis.) and sophomoreMichael McCrone (Janesville, Wis.) each finding the back of the net. The young Bulldogs, who were outshot 17-7 by Concordia, finished their 2011 campaign with a 4-12-2 record.

Junior Mitch Aguilera led Adrian offensively last season, scoring four times, including a pair of game-winning tallies. Adrian, which did not have a single senior on last year's squad, will have 15 letter winners returning.

Saturday's opponent, the Albion Britons, concluded their 2011 season with a 9-9-1 record. Senior forward Jimmy Nieman and his sophomore teammate up front Kyle Alsheskie each scored five time last season to top Briton scorers.

Both Adrian and Albion hosted NAC conference member Marian last season with Adrian playing Marian to a 1-1 while Albion dominated the Sabres 3-0.
