MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin men's soccer candidates began their fall practice with a timed two mile run early Saturday morning prior to their initial AM practice session.

"It was disappointing that some guys are not in shape but we have quality leadership and the younger guys will learn what the expectations are in a hurry," smiled head coach Tom Saleska.

Thirty-seven players practiced during the regualr 8-10am and 2-4 pm session and Saleska's eyes were especially focused on sixteen first year candidates, including a pair of transfers.

All conference and all-region returnee Jacob Pope, who will sit out early practices with an ankle injury, was impressed.  "I already see a team cohesion," said Pope.  "There don't appear to be any cliques and both the work ethic and communication this morning really was outstanding from my perspective."
