Wohlford named MLC Defensive Player of the Week

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin's Garrett Wohlford was named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

Wohlford (Rochester, Minn.) stopped a program-record-tying 21 shots during the Falcons' season-opening game at John Carroll University. The senior also had two ground balls and a caused turnover as he played all 60 minutes at goal in the 12-6 loss.

This is the first conference weekly honor of the season for the netminder and ninth of his career.
