Men’s Lacrosse chosen to win title in MLC Preseason Poll

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin was chosen to win the Midwest Lacrosse Conference regular season title in the 2019 Preseason Poll, voted on by the league's head coaches.

The Falcons are coming off a 13-6 season in 2018, which included an 8-1 record in league play. They have advanced to the MLC Tournament Championship game four-straight years.

Concordia Wisconsin received six of the 12 first-place votes and 115 total points in the preseason poll.

Aurora was second in the poll with 113 points and five of the top votes, while Benedictine was picked third with 99 points. MSOE was fourth with 94 points and the remaining first-place vote, Beloit was fifth with 73 and Marian sixth with 64.

Cornell College was tabbed seventh with 60 points, Monmouth eighth with 57 and league-newcomer Northwestern-St. Paul was ninth with 45. Concordia Chicago followed in 10th with 30 points, Fontbonne 11th with 28 and the league's additional new member, North Central, filled the last spot with 14.

The MLC's regular season standings determine the teams that qualify for the four-team conference tournament, while the tournament champion receives the league's automatic bid to the NCAA III Championship Tournament.
