Men’s Lacrosse shows off man-up skills in victory

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin scored a remarkable three goals on one man-up chance in the third quarter to turn the momentum in its favor en route to a 9-6 victory during MLC play on Wednesday night. With the victory, the Falcons locked up the second seed in the MLC Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Facing a one-goal deficit midway through the third quarter, Concordia Wisconsin received a man-up chance after MSOE was whistled for an illegal body check penalty. What occurred over the next 56 seconds is something rarely seen, as the Falcons scored three times – going 3-of-1 on the man-up opportunity.
- The three-goal barrage turned a one-goal deficit into a two-goal lead and shifted all the momentum towards the visitors. Junior Stephen Gregory (Louisville, Ky.) had a goal and assist during the 58 seconds of outstanding offense.
- Concordia Wisconsin added three more goals in the final period and won 12-of-17 faceoffs to gain possession often.
- Gregory and junior Aidan Connolly (Grayslake, Ill.) each scored twice for the Falcons, while five others found the back of the net once. Gregory and sophomore Warner Marquez (Danville, Calif.) each had a pair of helpers in the victory.
- Senior Paul Fisher (Champlin, Min.) had four caused turnovers and seven ground balls to led the defensive efforts. Sophomore Ben Gramarossa (Smithtown, N.Y.) won 11-of-16 faceoffs, picked up five ground balls and scored the second goal of his career.
- Junior Garrett Wohlford (Rochester, Minn.) had eight saves in a complete game effort to earn the win.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- With a victory on Saturday at Cornell, the Falcons will clinch the second seed for the MLC Tournament. It will potentially with be the third season in a row they will have achieved at least the second seed for the postseason.
- Concordia Wisconsin pushed its road winning streak to four games and during that span has won by a combined scored of 58-12.

THE OPPOSITION
- Quinn Erdmann had two goals and two assists for the Raiders, while Collin Fischer netted a pair of markers.
- Jacob Killian had three caused turnovers and two of his teammates posted two caused turnovers each.
