NEWSWORTHY NOTES
•  IT'S BEEN CLOSE:
There series between Concordia Wisconsin and John Carroll has been close, evident by a four-goal difference in the three all-time meetings. The Blue Streaks won the first meeting by two goals (9-7) in 2014, followed by one goal victories (4-3, 6-5) in 2015 and 2016.
•  FISHER HAS GREAT START: Paul Fisher began the season of his collegiate season in outstanding fashion by picking up 11 ground balls and causing a program-record 11 turnovers. It was the first time a player had double-figures in each category in a game.
•  A BATTLE OF THE BEST: Saturday's matchup features two of the best teams in their respective conferences. John Carroll was chosen to win the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Blue Streaks have won 13-consecutive league games and received four first-place votes in the OAC Preseason Poll. Meanwhile, Concordia Wisconsin won a share of the Midwest Lacrosse Conference a year ago and was picked to finish second in the MLC Preseason Poll. The Falcons advanced to the MLC Tournament Championship for the third-straight time. They are also 28-8 when playing at Fitting Field over the past four years under the direction of head coach Michael Fahey.
• HOME-OPENING SUCCESS: Concordia Wisconsin has been successful in home openers, posting a 5-2 record. During those five wins, they have scored 19 or more goals three times. Last season they defeated Dubuque 19-2, which included 16-consecutive goals over the last 45 minutes of play.
