Fuqua joins Men's Lacrosse coaching staff

MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin Men's Lacrosse head coach Michael Fahey has announced the addition of Spencer Fuqua as a graduate assistant to the coaching staff. Fuqua (FU-kwa) brings experience from the youth and collegiate levels to the Falcons and also played collegiately at the NCAA Division III level.

Fuqua previously served as the head coach at the University of Arizona during the 2016-17 season. Prior to that, he served as the defensive coordinator at Arizona for two years boasting a top-10 ranking and multiple defensive All-Americans. He helped take UA to its first MCLA tournament in 10 years.

Fuqua played collegiately at Aurora University (Ill.) where he was the captain in both his junior and senior seasons. Along with being a member of the all-conference team all four years, he received the Defensive Player of the Year Award in both his sophomore and junior seasons. In addition, he also earned Team MVP honors and was a part of the first class to field a team at Aurora. Fuqua helped the Spartans to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in his last two years at Aurora.

His coaching experience stems from his work at New Wave Lacrosse, where he helped coach youth teams since 2012. In the summer of 2013, Fuqua worked his way up to head coach within the program, furthering his coaching experience. Fuqua graduated from Aurora in 2014.

Prior to his collegiate career, Fuqua attended Los Alamitos High School in Southern California, where he helped the Griffins to multiple Sunset League titles. During his senior season, in which Fuqua was a captain, Los Alamitos reached the semifinals of the CIF Southern section twice and he finished his high school career as an all-Orange County player.

Fuqua is currently pursuing a Master's of Business Administration.
