Melby tabbed with MLC Defensive Player of the Week honors

WAUKESHA, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin midfielder Jack Melby was tabbed with Midwest Lacrosse Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors, the league office announced on Monday.

Melby (Eagan, Minn.) helped the Falcons to pair of MLC victories this past week to stay near the top of the standings. The sophomore was nearly perfect in a win over MSOE, winning 14-of-15 faceoffs and picking up eight ground balls. Melby then won a career-high 21-of-29 faceoffs and picked up nine ground balls during a dominating win over Concordia Chicago.

The weekly conference honor is the first of his career.
