Rhodes pulls away late over Men's Lacrosse

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – It came down to the final eight-plus minutes of the game and Rhodes was able to find the back of the net twice to break a tie on the scoreboard and earn a 7-5 non-conference victory over Concordia Wisconsin at Crain Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Things were close for the majority of the game, but Rhodes' Ryan Fennelly put the hosts ahead 6-5 with 8:32 to play in the game. The Lynx defense tightened up and forced three turnovers over the next four minutes, as the Falcons were unable to get a shot off.
- Rhodes sealed the game with a man-up goal by Tyler Milwit with 4:32 to play in the non-conference contest on a cold night with the temperatures a few degrees above freezing.
- Concordia Wisconsin fired a pair of shots around the two-minute mark, but one sailed high and the other was blocked by the defense.
- Sophomore Stephen Gregory (Louisville, Ky.) tallied a pair of goals to lead the Falcons, while a trio of his teammates found the back of the net once.
- Sophomore Aidan Connolly (Grayslake, Ill.) had two assists. Seniors James Warner (Ham Lake, Minn.) and Kellen Asmundson (Inver Grove, Minn.) each had helpers.
- Junior Paul Fisher (Champlin, Minn.) caused a team-high three turnovers. Freshman Jordan Alexander (Littleton, Colo.) made his first career start and had nine saves.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Concordia Wisconsin was whistled for four one-minute penalties, while Rhodes had one one-minute infraction.
- The Falcons led 3-1 after the opening quarter of play before the Lynx scored three goals in the second 15 minutes of play to take a 4-3 halftime lead.

THE OPPOSITION
- Tyler Milwit and Jason Lee each had a pair of markers for the Lynx. Ryan Fennelly and Ethan Garland recorded a goal and an assist, respectively.
- John Tooher led all players with five ground balls. J.J. Hoots won 9-of-14 faceoffs and Cameron Link earned the win in goal with five saves.
