Falcons pull away in third quarter at Augustana

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Concordia Wisconsin emerged in the second half with strong efforts on both ends of the field, which included four-straight goals in the third period, before winning 10-7 in a non-conference game at Augustana on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons found themselves down 5-4 less than a minute into the second half and regrouped with four unanswered goals during a four-minute and 22-second span in the third period to gain momentum and pull away.
- During the scoring stretch, sophomore Warren Kaminsky (Winnipeg, Manitoba) and senior Colin Raley (Inverness, Ill.) found the back of the net while senior Kellen Asmundson (Inver Grove, Minn.) got into the act with a pair of goals. The last two of the four goals came on man-up opportunities.
- The third quarter burst of scoring featured a 14-3 shots advantage for the Falcons and until after they pushed it to a 7-5 lead, the Vikings had possession of the ball for seconds through the first five minutes.
- Statistics across the board were even, except Concordia Wisconsin 33-23 edge in shots.
- Raley had a team-high four goals, while Kaminsky and Asmundson each had a pair of markers. Senior James Warner (Ham Lake, Minn.) and sophomore Aidan Connolly (Grayslake, Ill.) also had goals.
- Connolly assisted on a career-best three scores for a career-high four points and Warner helped on two shots that found the back of the net.
- Sophomore Garrett Wohlford (Rochester, Minn.) made nine saves and picked up six ground balls in a complete game winning effort in goal.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Falcons have scored 10 or more goals in all three wins this season.
- Concordia Wisconsin is now 4-1 against Augustana and has won three in a row.
- Kaminsky's two goals were the most in a game during his career thus far.

THE OPPOSITION
- Sam Daly led the Vikings with four goals and two assists.
- Jason Van Dyck had five ground balls and won four faceoffs, while McKay Potter was 6-of-12 in the faceoff circle.
Jeremiah Heredia took the loss in goal after making six saves and playing 41:45.
