HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Dubuque found the back of the net less than three minutes into the non-conference game, Concordia Wisconsin answered with three markers in a row. The Spartans then scored their final goal of the contest with 4:54 remaining in the opening period.
- The Falcons offense found its rhythm and the defense went into shutdown mode over the game's final 45 minutes of action. They scored 16-straight goals, with five tallies finding the back of the net in the second and third quarters and six in the last period.
- Offensive play was balanced with 12 players scoring for the Falcons. Senior Colin Raley (Inverness, Ill.) leading all scorers with five goals, to go along with two assists for a career-best seven points. Senior Kellen Asmundson (Inver Grove, Minn.) had a hat trick and two goals of his own for a career-high five points.
- Junior James Warner (Ham Lake, Minn.) scored twice and assisted on three goals, while nine of his teammates tickled the twine once. Sophomore Aidan Connolly (Grayslake, Ill.) had a career-high three assists.
- Defensively, freshman Ben Gramarossa (Smithtown, N.Y.) had a game-high six ground balls and won 17-of-24 faceoffs. Junior Paul Fisher (Champlin, Minn.) led all defenders with four caused turnovers.
- Sophomore Garrett Wohlford (Rochester, Minn.) made three saves in 45 minutes of action between the pipes.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The game-time temperature was 62 degrees, which was far better than the 11 degrees for the season opener two years ago.
- Concordia Wisconsin held a 48-15 difference in shots, 37-13 lead in ground balls and forced 24 turnovers. They scored eight goals on the ensuing possession after imposing a turnover.
- The Falcons ended the win with 14 assists, which is tied for the 10th most in a game in program history and their three man-up goals were also tied for the 10th most.
- Falcons who scored their first career goal were freshmen Ethan Danz (Appleton, Wis.) and Jacob Leitner (Sykesville, Md.).

THE OPPOSITION
- Matt Penalvert and Josh Berry-Wingate each had a goal, while Tyson Svoboda had two helpers.
- Kyle Mullins took the loss in goal after making 11 saves in 51:34 of playing time.
