Men's Hockey reflects on season

MEQUON, Wis. - The CUW men's hockey team has wrapped up the 2018-19 season and continued its growth and broke multiple school records in the process.

The Blue and White broke multiple school records in November at Bethel with 9 goals, 16 assists and 25 points.

Sophomore Nick Guiney broke the school record with four assists in the Bethel game. He also tied a school record with two power-play goals against MSOE.

Sophomore Nick Guerra was named to the D3Hockey.com Team of the Week and was named the NCHA Offensive Player of the Week for his performance at Bethel. After recording the fourth hat trick in program history.

In Demcember, the Falcons upset No. 13 Marian with a 2-1 road victory.

CUW played six ranked schools on the season and upset No. 13 Marian and No. 9 Salve Regina. The Falcons also went to overtime with No. 1 St. Norbert and battled 2-1 with No. 1 ranked and eventually undefeated national champion, Wis-Stevens Point. 

CUW finished with a .902 save percentage, the second-highest in program history.

The Concordia men pulled in many post season accolades in 2019.

Freshman Bo Didur was named to the NCHA All-Freshman Team as a goalie.

The Blue and White had 10 selections on the NCHA All-Academic Team junior Josh Adkins, sophomore Andrej Buchko, sophomore Dakota Delbridge, senior Adam Fauchoux, sophomore Nick Guiney, senior Connor Hogg, junior Jim Pearson, senior Stefen Seel, junior Jake Switzer and senior Eric Therrien.

The Falcons finished seventh in NCAA Division III in comnined special teams percentage at 55.3%.

CUW also broke the school record for power play percentage at 22.0.%

The Falcons were also active within the community and continued to support Angel on My Shoulder and volunteered over 200 hours with OYHA youth hockey organization.
