Men’s Hockey celebrates seniors against Trine

MEQUON, Wis. – The collegiate career of six CUW seniors came to an end on Saturday in the season finale against Trine on Saturday. The Thunder rumbled away with a 3-2 victory. CUW finishes the season at 7-15-3 and 5-11-2 in the NCHA.

"I can't put into words how much these seniors mean to our program," said head coach Jasen Wise. "I'm very proud of them for all they have accomplished, but most of all for their perserverance, heart and character. They left a legacy of never quit and always stick together. They are a group that always put the team first and they bleed royal blue. We are very thankful they chose CUW."

Saturday the Falcons celebrated the careers of the six members of the senior class in Stefen Seel (Invermere, B.C.), Adam Fauchoux (Prince Albert, Sask.), Nick Malvin (Ham Lake, Minn.), Taylor Gauld (Whitby, Ont.), Eric Therrien (Willow Branch, Sask.) and Connor Hogg (London, Ont.).

The CUW senior class finishes with 47 victories and the highest winning percentage in program history.

Trine opened the game on a 3-0 run.

The Falcons would not fold, however.

Stefen Seel celebrated senior day with a power play goal from a pass from fellow senior Connor Hogg and freshman Brandon MacKinnon (Etobicoke, Ont.)

Taylor Gauld joined in on the senior-day scoring when he hammered a shot into the back of the net. Sophomore Nick Guiney (Victoria, B.C.) and junior Josh Adkins (Victoria, B.C.) had the assists.

The Blue and White outshot the Thunder on Saturday, 45-24. Taylor Gauld led the flock with seven shots.

Freshman Bo Didur (West Vancouver, B.C.) posted 21 saves.

The CUW Athletics Department would like to thank the CUW Men's Hockey senior class for their commitment and hard work over the past four seasons.
