Men’s Hockey picks up first point of the season

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's hockey program picked up its first point of the season with a 1-1 tie against Finlandia on Saturday evening. CUW improves to 0-3-1 on the year with the tie. Saturday marks the first time on the year that Finlandia has not come away with a victory and moves the Lions to 2-0-1 on the young season.

Ice Cold Facts

Both defenses shined brightly in the first period, with neither side allowing a goal.

Blake Peavey put the Lions on the scoreboard first with a second-period goal.

Junior Jim Pearson (Ashton, Ont.) tied the game on the power play at the 9:47 mark of the third period.

Senior Connor Hogg (London, Ont.) had the CUW assist on the goal.

Sophomore Dakota Delbridge (Tracy, Calif.) picked up 32 saves on the night.

Junior Jake Switzer (Swansea, Ill.) had a game-high seven shots.

Both teams were able to kill off an overtime penalty.

CUW moves to 12-9-3 all-time against Finlandia and remain undefeated in the last 12 meetings.

The Falcon penalty kill killed off all five penalties.

On the Road Again

The Falcons next five games are all on the road. On Friday, the Blue and White will travel to St. Scholastica. The next home game will be on Dec. 1 against Lake Forest.
