Men’s Hockey Picked Fifth in NCHA Preseason Poll

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin men's hockey team was predicted to finish fifth in the NCHA, according to the preseason poll voted on by the league's head coaches. The Falcons are coming off a program-best 16 win season in 2017-18 and are hoping to keep momentum rolling into this season.

The preseason poll is conducted in a 1-12 finishing format, although the league splits its 12 teams into two divisions. The Falcons will be in the South Division, along with Aurora, Trine, Adrian, MSOE, and Lake Forest.

The defending national champions, St. Norbert picked up 10 first-place votes for the top spot in the preseason poll. The Bulldogs of Adrian were picked second with 112 pints and two first-place votes.

Concordia had the second most points in the south division with 77. In the north division, Marian had 96 points and St. Scholastica had 85 points.

The Falcons will begin their 2018-19 season next weekend with a pair of non-conference road games. The opener is set for next Friday night at 7 p.m. against UW-River Falls.
