Jones ties for fourth at Elmhurst Spring Invitational

WEST CHICAGO, Ill. – Concordia University Wisconsin's Men's Golf team began the spring portion of its schedule on Tuesday at the one-day, 18-hole Elmhurst College Spring Invitational. Bill Jones led the team with a tie for fourth place, while the Falcons took fifth.

Jones (sophomore, New Holstein, Wis.) fired an 11-over-par 82 to tie for fourth place out of 28 golfers, which was his best finish of the season. CUW carded a 346 team score and was seven shots shy of taking second place overall.

Wyatt Stickney (Elmhurst College) won the Invitational with a 7-over-par 78, while Sean Lenchner (Elmhurst College) took second place with an 8-over-par 79. Bryce Renninger (Aurora University) was third with an 81.

Elmhurst College won the team trophy with a 330 team score (46-over-par).

Junior Chris Payne (Waukesha, Wis.) carded a 15-over-par 86 to tie for 10th place, while sophomore Mike Loftus (Germantown, Wis.), freshman Evan Rabas (Sherwood, Wis.) and freshman Oliver Sadiq (Elkhart Lake, Wis.) each recorded an 89 to tie for 22nd.

CUW has future events planned for this spring, but those dates will depend upon Mother Nature and course conditions improving.
