Falcons edge out Stars in home victory

MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin escaped with a 90-89 victory over Dominican on Wednesday night in a game that was a one or two possession difference all night long inside the R. John Buuck Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons missed a jumper with seven seconds to play after a timeout and forced a difficult Stars 3-point attempt on a scramble play that was off the mark to walk with a needed NACC victory. Concordia Wisconsin remains a game back in the standings behind Benedictine and Wisconsin Lutheran.
- There were three scoring ties and 10 lead changes and the Falcons led for 31 minutes and 20 seconds in the game.
- Statistics were even across the box score, but Concordia Wisconsin scored 24 points off 14 Dominican turnovers. They also scored 56 points in the paint.
- Junior Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) scored a career-best 31 points on 11-of-20 points, while sophomore Brandon Keller (Plymouth, Wis.) had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Jared Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) had 11 points and six assists and junior Alex Antonie (Sheboygan Falls, Wis.) posted 11 points in 12 minutes off the bench.
- Dominican was led by Jackson Smith who had 23 points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block.
