Falcons fall in NACC tournament to Aurora

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin and the Aurora Spartans battled in the NACC Tournament semifinal, as the Spartans were fueled by big performances from Vance Bailey and Terrell Wilson who both notched 25 plus points to give the Spartans the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons fought hard all game, as they came out with high energy and hit shots at a 52.9 percent clip in the first half to take momentum into the halftime break with a one point, 49-48 lead. The 49 points tied a season-high mark for most points in a first half for CUW. Senior Josh Hau (Slinger, Wis.) led the Falcons in the first half with 12 points, as the senior was driving to the basket at will and hit multiple 3-pointers in the half.
- One of the bright spots for Concordia Wisconsin was their activity on the offensive boards, as they pulled down 12 offensive rebounds and gave themselves more opportunities on the offensive side of the ball. Both teams did a great job at holding onto possession, but the Falcons did force 10 turnovers and were able to swipe seven steals on the day.
- Balance on the offensive side showed for the Falcons, as CUW had four starters' record double-digit points. Senior Andrew Fratzke (Winona, Minn.) tallied 13 points and five rebounds. Freshman Jared Jurss recorded a similar stat line with 11 points and three rebounds on the day. Sophomore Jordan Johnson (Cedarburg, Wis.) chipped in 18 points and Hau led the Concordia Wisconsin with 28 points, seven rebounds, and four steals.
- The Spartans were fueled by big performances from7 Bailey who netted 28 points and Wilson who notched another 27 points and seven rebounds for Aurora. The three seed hit a blazing 55 percent from the field, while also getting 11 points and 12 rebounds from Jesse Young who came off the bench. Tyler Carlson also chipped in 10 points for the Spartans.
- The Senior class of Jake Jurss, Andrew Fratzke, Noah Gosse, and Josh Hau has helped the men's basketball program to 67 wins along with a 2019 CIT Championship and two 1,000 point scorers in Hau and Fratzke.
